the VWBPE – Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education conference is upon us this weekend. The planning for certain aspects was very informally done, so I had no real idea until 72 hours ago that they even liked the idea of using Avatar Starter Wardrobe free gifts. However, through my SL contacts, the idea was gently reintroduced, and the timing must have been exquisite, because not only did I get to provide the bags, but I got a small spot in the main Visitor and Social area of the conference events between the Newbie orientation area and the Professional Vendor area. I am at the end of the “professional” lane so they have to cross right in front of my niche to go to any of the more unstructured spots.
Final Setup at VWBPE Conference
It was somewhat of a mystery what I was trying to design to fit into. Even at this writing, about 24 hours before the conference start, most of the Social area is still a green lawn.
Both of the committee members involved with overall conference planning have seen my setup, and thought it was very good. Evidently I will fit into an overall plan of some kind, though I’m clueless as to what it is.
No rest for the weary though. All the 100s of people coming through who potentially will get my Muse Island LM, theoretically might want to come and visit my shop. I’ve got some stuff for my low end Newbie upstair store, and its time to get back on track for my own work.
